Just Us

I have learned so much about myself because of this man. My husband is truly my better half. I am not sure where I would be without him and I owe so much of my happiness to him.  We fight, we laugh, we make mistakes, we learn, we grow, and we love each other... Marriage is not the wedding fairy tale, and especially not the honeymoon after, but it is so amazing and so precious when you are married to the one God intended you for.

Love & Respect

My husband and I started a new devotional written by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs called Love & Respect. We are looking to find the secret to a lasting and successful marriage and although there is no one definitive answer, we know there are tools which can help us make the most of our relationship. Love & Respect teaches that the principle to a lasting marriage is one which a wife receives "the love she most desires," while a husband receives "the respect he desperately needs."

So far so good! We are still in the early stages of the devotional but we have already learned so much. Perhaps the best thing we've learned is that God has already given us the formula for a successful marriage. It is not found in the pages of a single devotional, or in a weekend retreat with your spouse, but rather in His Word alone. Love & Respect breaks down Scripture to help you apply God's formula to a successful marriage. We are excited to be on this journey and we are so thankful that the Lord set this and His book in our hands. As we get further into our study, I'll update you on some of the things we've learned.
